Dear neighbors,
At Blue Cross, our approach to corporate citizenship is embodied in our deep commitment to helping all Massachusetts residents lead healthier lives. In 2018, we and our community partners made exciting advances in all three pillars of our Healthy Living strategy: healthy eating, active lifestyles and access to healthy environments. A key to our collective success was our Healthy Living Accelerator – a four-part program we devised to strengthen collaboration, develop new ideas and expand on proven models.
Healthy Living Collaborative – We partner with a select group of nonprofit organizations to design, test and accelerate a program that promotes healthy living.
Healthy Living Network – We foster new solutions to community health challenges through accelerator grants and capacity-building workshops.
Healthy Living Convening - We bring together leaders from health care, business, government and community organizations to share insights about how to accelerate healthy living innovation in Massachusetts.
Healthy Living in Action - We partner with communities across the commonwealth to support healthy living experiences that engage our neighbors, members and employees.
Our strategy is a result of ongoing assessments of community needs, market research and the evolution of our company’s consumer-focused business strategy. We work in partnership with and seek input from a wide range of organizations across the state, as well as local and national experts, to develop and build on the three pillars of our Healthy Living strategy with its interrelated components.
We are very grateful to our community partners and Blue Cross employees for all the time, energy and new ideas they have contributed to this effort. I invite you to read about what we accomplished together in 2018.
